otherwise, i’ve learned more about humanity in the past 6 days than I had my entire life. Sometimes it’s easy to get down on the world, people, life, life-situation, yourself, whatever.. especially when something like this happens. But the overwhelming reaction we’ve gotten from the community that has rallied around Matthew has proven how lucky we are to have all of you in our lives. Aside from the calls, texts, emails, gifts and well wishes, we’ve heard of groups/organizations being created to bring awareness to domestic violence, violence against women and violence in general.. there are benefits being put together, auctions, special events, donation inquiries, etc. it’s truly extraordinary,.. thank you. You guys keep up the positive energy and i swear i’ll do everything in my power to get him back to 100% ASAP. you’ll never know how grateful we are… all the love in the world

Matthew Update
There’s really no way to appropriately express our appreciation for everyone’s support. We’ve had calls, letters, gifts, and well wishes pouring in from all around the world and it’s truly the most beautiful and genuine show of compassion and love that we’ve ever experienced. we very sincerely thank you all..

Matthew’s making good progress. His doctors have scheduled the next surgery for July 16th wherein they hope to re-apply the portion of his skull that has been removed to accommodate the swelling in his brain. So for the next 2 weeks he will continue to rest, build up his strength and spirit and hopefully by then he’ll be healthy enough for surgery. Huge thank you to Dr. Neckrysh and his team of neuro-surgeons and the entire staff at UIC Hospitals, who’ve been amazing and have quite literally saved Matthew’s life.

In other news, the Chicago Police Department have arrested Justin Pivec – the alleged attacker. Detectives Michael D’Andrea and Joseph Gentile of Area 4 Special Victims Unit and the entire CPD have worked relentlessly to make the arrest and I can’t thank them enough. For now, Justin Pivec is charged with Aggravated Battery Causing Serious Bodily Injury. We’ll release more information as we get it and as is appropriate to share. I’ll never understand violence in general… violence against women is simply appaling. When Matthew saw the attack in progress, he was well aware that intervening was most likely going to turn out pretty badly for himself, but he did it anyway.. i’m just super proud of him and super grateful for the community that has rallied around him.

This has been an impossible time for us and without the support of these doctors, the police, our attorney, management, friends, family, bands, labels, and every single one of you who has written, called, text, sent gifts, positive energy, love, support, awareness, etc. I don’t think we would have been able to pull through. So please, I hope every one of you realize what a critical part you’ve played in helping Matthew recover. We’ll never be able to thank you enough. all the love in the world xoxo

a day of celebration in our community. the medical situation that pulled us off the road has taken a huge turn for the good.
without getting too personal, mateo was being tested for a condition that, having been positive, would have been fatal. it took four rounds of tests to rule this out. after the first three, it was not looking good. the fourth one was the last chance to eliminate this as what he had…and
we just got word….HE’S GOOD!!!!!!!!

we were terrified for a long time, especially when we got
the 3rd result, while on tour. that dark passenger, has turned to euphoria and we will be reuniting in a week.

the music that these times has spawned is the most real, magical,
intense that we’ve ever created. this is the part where my impatience
problems tempt me to just get it out to you guys now.
i’ll ask my shrink and see if she says i can.

anyhow, we will be filming our first rehearsal, with mateo back, in
the “attic” on june 4th and posting it on www.pledgemusic.com which
will feature a new song or two.

Today, we leave for a small club tour around the unites states. The purpose of this is to perform for you, songs you have not yet heard live, one more time before we go down periscope. Minus a few major international festivals, and some charity shows, we will be finishing the “dresden codex” and writing “world war 3″ all summer. Yes we are no longer working with RoadRunner Records, but also yes, we are already sorted with a new home. We didn’t want to make that public until we were comfortable. Plus, you guys don’t need to spend energy on the business end, we’ll take care of that.

We are writing WW3 in multiple countries around the world. England, Columbia, USA, etc… and you will have access to all of this experience.

We are in the process of making a movie. When this comes out, it will shock a lot of people. I don’t believe that i’ve seen anything in my life so real, raw and painful and beautiful

I’ve always said that when our music stops moving me, it’s time to wrap it up. perhaps it’s the universe compelling us forward but when I thought we were depleted, we somewhat miserably created our most inspired work to date. and such is life, riddled with highs and lows. you couldn’t appreciate the highs without the lows and remember that as bad as things can get, they will ALWAYS get better. that is a promise. hope you are all well. we’re off to Scotland in a few days, then wrapping up the EP and heading back to UK/Europe in March. hope you are all happy healthy and horny.. i know i am. skeeert

UK dates have been released! Europe will be added to the back of that tour and those dates will go up soon. I think we’re bringing Innerpartysystem .. not positive yet but I think so. they rule. Anyhow, we’re planning to release an EP of some of the new songs to bridge the gap between Attics and the next LP. we’ve got the whole thing mapped out and just need to confirm the release dates. new stuff sounds a bit more like FTTUTY.. we went into the ATTICS sessions wanting a polished sounding record but this time around we’re looking to go more raw, nipple twisting rock. i don’t know what that means but it sounds fun. In the meantime we’ll be posting a ton of videos on our kyte player of us partying on the beach, making douchers of ourselves and yeah probably some of the writing/recording process. UK kids – we’re planning a killer show so get your tickets ! US kids- we’ll be back in late April. European kids- we’ll be there after the UK in April. Japanese kids- we had a blast with you in december, be back ASAP! Australian kids- you rule, we’re desperate to come back and see you guys. South American kids- we’re workin on it, I swear.
