Update from Madina Lake in the UK

The band is busy playing their asses off, but Matthew had time to send along this note for everyone on this tour.

“In Madina Lake we call this our “cruising altitude.” It’s a stretch of shows or a tour, or just a general sub-conscious of the band that feels euphoric. We are firing on all pistons. We spent the summer slugging it out on Warped tour, which was a lot of work. It was rewarding but we felt a bit restrained. I compare it to the Taste of Chicago. It’s fun, it’s hot and there’s a shitload of people there everyday, but instead of sitting down and having a complete meal in custom designed dining area, you’re just sampling a few bits from a hundred different restaurants.
We prefer to have a captive audience so we can focus on taking them for a ride. This tour with Papa Roach has afforded us exactly that opportunity. Another refreshing characteristic of this run is the audience. It’s no scene contest. These are people who appreciate how music has enriched their lives and they’ve shown up for an uninhibited escape.
We are lucky as hell to be here.”

That’s exactly how I feel. Speacilly about Madina. In their concert, fans are not trying to be ‘cooler’ than each other. It is just this great energy, the feeling of being with people that are as passionate about music as you are. And that’s just amazing :)
Can’t wait to see you announce a tour date in Brazil! :D

I must admit when I heard that Madina Lake were supporting Papa Roach, I was just like ‘Oh ok’… I wasn’t really fussed either way because I was that excited to see my favorite band again. I’d heard a few ML songs and I enjoyed them but I never really gave them a chance. So I went to the first of the Papa Roach shows I was attending (Rock City, Nottingham) and I really enjoyed the ML set despite Nathan kicking me in the head with his barefoot… I thought it was really refreshing to have a band like ML supporting Papa Roach- a great diversity. My friend Sammy (everyone on here will know her, right?) had sent me the ML albums and I took a few listens… didn’t really click with it. But then by the Manchester show on the sunday, I met you guys in the morning and you were all so sweet and nice I’m regretting not having pics taken with you and I’m sorry Matthew for saying you kicked me in the head even though it was Nathan… But you were both sweet enough to offer me a free shirt. I really enjoyed the other three papa roach/madina lake shows and now I’m hooked on both ML albums, I think I prefer the first one but both are really… vibrant, energetic.. and I love that I really do. I can’t stop listening I think I’m addicted!

So well done Madina Lake. You’ve won me over and I can’t wait to hopefully see you a 5th time but headlining!
