On June 20th, this song was ready to be recorded in “The Attic,” our Chicago rehearsal spot.   Dan tracked drums and Mateo did the programming and guitar parts.  On June 21st, Matthew and Nathan recorded the chorus vocals in our rehearsal spot in Chicago.  June 26th, Matthew recorded his bass parts.  Later that night, Matthew was unconscious in the hospital, looking like we were losing him.  Fast forward to now…  We got the song mixed and mastered and here it is…. Now available on Itunes - http://bit.ly/newmadinalakesong  Continued love and thanks from Madina Lake in this extraordinary time.

I’m sorry I haven’t updated in a while. It’s been a crazy time and I wish I had better news but tomorrow’s surgery has been postponed based on the current condition of Matthew’s swelling. It’s not necessarily bad news. The brain is one of the more delicate parts of a body and it takes the longest to heal. After almost 2 weeks it looks like we’re not quite ready for the 2nd surgery. Instead I’m taking Matthew back to the hospital tomorrow for a CT scan and visit with our doctors . based on the results of the scan, hopefully we’ll have a better idea of how soon we can reschedule the surgery. I’ll be sure to keep you guys posted. However, let’s focus on the positive eh? So much as happened in the past 2 weeks I can hardly keep track but I have been aware of all the amazing things you guys are doing. It’s important to me that you realize how grateful we are for every bit of it. Whether someone donates, contributes an item for auction, organizes benefit events, sends letter, emails, posts, texts, or so much as “thinks” about my brother’s well being… it’s all equally incredible and massively appreciated.

Having said that I wanted to help spread the word on a few that I’m aware of.. Our dear friend Ryan Manno and his TTP crew (in conjunction with 5Bam) have put together a 2-day benefit show here in Chicago (aug. 21st at double door, aug. 22nd at hard rock hotel ballroom) featuring some amazing bands as well as an auction for which some of the biggest names, companies and bands have contributed items.. you’ve all made us feel like the luckiest people on the planet and we are forever in debted to all of you. Matthew Update
There’s really no way to appropriately express our appreciation for everyone’s support. We’ve had calls, letters, gifts, and well wishes pouring in from all around the world and it’s truly the most beautiful and genuine show of compassion and love that we’ve ever experienced. we very sincerely thank you all..

This has been an impossible time for us and without the support of these doctors, the police, our attorney, management, friends, family, bands, labels, and every single one of you who has written, called, text, sent gifts, positive energy, love, support, awareness, etc. I don’t think we would have been able to pull through. So please, I hope every one of you realize what a critical part you’ve played in helping Matthew recover. We’ll never be able to thank you enough. all the love in the world xoxo

a day of celebration in our community. the medical situation that pulled us off the road has taken a huge turn for the good.
without getting too personal, mateo was being tested for a condition that, having been positive, would have been fatal. it took four rounds of tests to rule this out. after the first three, it was not looking good. the fourth one was the last chance to eliminate this as what he had…and
we just got word….HE’S GOOD!!!!!!!!

we were terrified for a long time, especially when we got
the 3rd result, while on tour. that dark passenger, has turned to euphoria and we will be reuniting in a week.

the music that these times has spawned is the most real, magical,
intense that we’ve ever created. this is the part where my impatience
problems tempt me to just get it out to you guys now.
i’ll ask my shrink and see if she says i can.

anyhow, we will be filming our first rehearsal, with mateo back, in
the “attic” on june 4th and posting it on www.pledgemusic.com which
will feature a new song or two.

Dear Council persons, citizens, tourists and the rest,

We, the members of Madina Lake, thank you for your ears as we disseminate some important information to you.

Today, we leave for a small club tour around the unites states. The purpose of this is to perform for you, songs you have not yet heard live, one more time before we go down periscope. Minus a few major international festivals, and some charity shows, we will be finishing the “dresden codex” and writing “world war 3″ all summer. We are working on getting to Australia and Japan as well. But alas, this club tour in the states will be the last time you see madina for a while. It would bring us great joy to see you here:

Yes we are no longer working with RoadRunner Records, but also yes, we are already sorted with a new home. We didn’t want to make that public until we were comfortable. Plus, you guys don’t need to spend energy on the business end, we’ll take care of that.

We are writing WW3 in multiple countries around the world. England, Columbia, USA, etc… and you will have access to all of this experience.

We are in the process of making a movie. When this comes out, it will shock a lot of people. I don’t believe that i’ve seen anything in my life so real, raw and painful and beautiful
